Welcome To The Dredge Workers Reunion in Sumpter Oregon!
Once, every year, The Dredgeworkers reunion picnic brings together family, friends and local residents for a
tasty barbecue, music and time to share stories, photos and information. These Dredge Workers have plenty
of stories to share! Just imagine being a worker on the Sumpter Valley Gold Dredge for an 8 hour shift, and
being constantly wet from thousands of gallons of water flowing through the machinery, or........working a night shift
in the frigid cold of winter when Sumpter temps. often dip to below zero.....all for about $1.00 an hour at best!
Visitors can watch an informative video in our interpretive store in which a few of the dredge workers are featured
explaining their responsibilities and duties while working on the Dredge. This video is also for sale in our gift
