Sumpter Valley Gold Dredge Powder River Correctional Facility Inmate Photos Sumpter, Oregon It is not uncommon to see Inmates working throughout Baker City and areas of Baker County. We appreciate Powder River Inmates of Baker City contributing so much to the Dredge and State Park Heritage Area! Most folks probably take the inmates for granted as they go about their duties. But not up here in Sumpter, Oregon! While it has become common to see these Baker City Inmates performing work throughout Baker County and the entire Sumpter Valley Gold Dredge State Park Heritage Area, they are anything but taken for granted! We are very grateful for their hard work and efforts to make improvements and perform necessary maintenance throughout the State Park area. The results of the Inmate's hard work are always visible at the Sumpter Gold Dredge and throughout our State Park! To see how our State Park benefits from these hardworking Inmates, just take a hike on one of our beautiful trails....or take a stroll around the dredge!
