Friends of The Sumpter Valley Dredge, Inc.

is a non-profit corporation established in 1993 in Sumpter, Oregon. The Board of Directors consists of up to eleven elected members from our local communities, who meet monthly throughout the year. You can become a member or help preserve and restore the Historic Gold Dredge by serving on the Board of Directors, or both! For more information, send an email to: president@friendsofthedredge.com

Mission Statement:   To partner with Oregon Parks and Recreation Department
to protect the outstanding resources of the Sumpter Valley Dredge State
Heritage Area which provides educational and interpretive experiences
for the benefit of present and future generations.


MEETINGS

Board Meetings are held every second Thursday of each month
at the Schoolhouse and other designated locations in Sumpter.
Anyone who is interested in the Preservation and Restoration
of the Sumpter Valley Dredge is welcome at our meetings! Input

Some things to remember......

~ A Recreational Prospecting Permit is required to do any Gold Panning within the Sumpter Valley Dredge State Heritage Area. Prospecting Permits are free.

~ Gold Panning is allowed only in designated areas within the State Heritage Area.

~ Because of the historical nature of the Dredge State Park,
Metal Detecting is not allowed.
